DESCRIPTION:Our Board Member Chandra LeGue will be leading a hike for Oregon Wild that will explore an upper stretch of the Middle Fork Willamette River\, where the springs are cold\, the forests are ancient\, and the river is undammed.The hike from Indigo Springs to Chuckle Springs along the Middle Fork Willamette National Recreation Trail is all about variety…from ice-cold and gushing springs\, a free-flowing river\, and ancient hemlocks and Douglas-fir\, to a forest recovering from fire. Experience this variety and learn all about what makes the Middle Fork so great. SUMMARY:Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council Bird Survey at Dorris Ranch
DESCRIPTION:Join the Coast Fork Birders at Willamalane’s Dorris Ranch for a beginner-friendly bird walk. Alison Center will lead the group in a survey to help track the impact on bird species as the Oregon white oak habitat is restored through our oak release project there. Meet at the restrooms (first left after entrance) located at the Middle Fork Path trailhead. Dress for the weather and bring your own water\, snack\, binoculars and bird identification book. The walk will be on the paved path with potential to explore off-trail areas. DESCRIPTION:Join Oregon Wild\, the Oregon Brewshed Alliance\, SOLVE Oregon\, and groups around the country as we celebrate Plant a Tree Day. Join your community to improve the recreational and ecological value of our local stretch of the Middle Fork Willamette River. This event will provide a great opportunity to contribute to a healthy environment by picking up litter\, pulling invasive weeds\, and caring for native plants; and also a chance to connect with new people and communities. Come prepared to get a little dirty\, and we will provide the gloves\, trash bags\, tools\, and pre- and post-work refreshments. Sturdy footwear and work gloves are recommended. \nKids accompanied by an adult welcome. \nPre-registration and signed waiver required.
